EUmeter is a platform for tracking the progress and assessing the level of preparedness of the Republic of Serbia and other countries in the process of accession to the European Union. The aim is to make the European integration process more transparent, and progress towards EU membership understandable, measurable and easy to compare.
For the first time, the relevant data on the Republic of Serbia’s level of preparedness for European Union membership, on progress in implementing reforms, on the alignment of domestic legislation with the EU acquis, and on how the competent institutions are meeting their obligations, are brought together in one place. In this way EUmeter answers the key questions:
EUmeter draws on the relevant strategic documents, reform plans and European Commission findings, and enables transparency of the accession process and a realistic assessment of the Republic of Serbia’s readiness for European Union membership. At the same time, it serves as an instrument for tracking the reform accountability of institutions and for informed public monitoring of one of the country’s most important development processes, as well as for gaining insight into the differences in the negotiating positions and treatment of candidate countries, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of the dynamics of relations between the European Union and the governments of the countries in the accession process.

EUmeter was developed within the EUpravo zato initiative; it was conceived and delivered by the WMG Foundation in cooperation with a team of European integration experts.
