WMG (Wireless Media Group) at the CEBAC summit – sustainability as a strategic priority

As a premium partner of the first CEBAC Summit, WMG (Wireless Media Group) played a significant role in shaping the dialogue on sustainability and technology during the event held in Belgrade. The summit, under the slogan “European-Serbian Business Bridge: Innovations in Sustainability, Technology and Talent”, brought together leaders of European and Serbian companies, government representatives, and international organizations to enhance cooperation in the fields of green and digital transition.

The central part of WMG’s participation was a panel discussion featuring Irena Petrović, Director of the WMG Foundation. The panel, entitled “How Do European Companies Implement Their ESG Strategies in the Western Balkans?”, highlighted the key challenges and opportunities in aligning with European ESG standards, emphasising the need for a tailored approach that respects the local context.

“At the WMG Foundation, we are building a bridge between European standards and local opportunities. Our mission is not only to align our operations with ESG principles, but also to transform communities through tangible projects such as Plant a Tree and Empowering Youth. Sustainability is not an end in itself, but also an opportunity to create together a more stable, secure, and prosperous future for the Western Balkans,” stated Irena Petrović.

Commitment to ESG principles is deeply embedded in WMG’s business strategy. As an integral part of the company, the WMG Foundation actively contributes to these goals through initiatives such as EUpravozato, aiming to bring European values closer to citizens and present examples of good practice. The fact that this portal receives one million visits per month confirms the public’s interest in these topics.

The first CEBAC Summit, organised by the Council of European Business Associations and Chambers of Commerce in Serbia (CEBAC), enabled key discussions on topics such as Serbia’s role as a centre for manufacturing and supply chains, challenges in human resource management, and digitization. The event was opened by CEBAC Secretary General Sanja Ivanić, who emphasized that “the aim of this summit is to intensify cooperation and launch joint projects between European and Serbian companies.” Speakers at the event also included Jagoda Lazarević, Minister of Internal and External Trade, as well as H.E. Emanuele Giaufret, Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia.
