WMG Foundation and Women on Boards Adria (WOBA) sign cooperation agreement to strengthen gender balance in leadership positions

A memorandum of cooperation between the WMG Foundation and the association Women on Boards Adria (WOBA) was signed in Tivat during the ESG Adria Summit, thereby establishing a strategic partnership aimed at advancing gender balance, equal opportunities, and social progress in the Western Balkans region.

The cooperation is based on mutual support, knowledge exchange, and joint action that will contribute to greater representation of women in management bodies and leadership structures, as well as to the development of inclusive and sustainable business practices aligned with European standards.

“This partnership enables us to work together on creating more opportunities for women to lead, inspire, and drive positive change across the region. We all know that by empowering women, we contribute to the strengthening and development of sustainable communities, which is also the mission of our foundation,” stated Irena Petrović, Director of the WMG Foundation.

The memorandum covers a range of joint activities, including the organisation of events, workshops, and conferences, the exchange of information and knowledge, as well as mutual support through professional advice and the promotion of initiatives aimed at improving gender equality.

“We see the WMG Foundation as an important partner in the field of sustainability, and the very context of the ESG Adria Summit confirms that we share the same values and vision. For some time now, WOBA has been working on issues of long-term importance for the entire region, and the signing of this agreement with the WMG Foundation represents, for us, a step forward in the tangible empowerment of women in leadership positions. Together, we can develop and implement a number of meaningful projects,” emphasised Biljana Braithwaite, President of the Women on Boards Adria (WOBA) Association.

The WMG Foundation was established in March 2024 by the company WMG (Wireless Media Group) with the aim of supporting initiatives that contribute to the self-sustainability of societies in Serbia and the region. The foundation’s focus is directed towards projects that contribute to economic, social, and environmental sustainability, as key prerequisites for European and global competitiveness.
