The Third Educational Workshop for Primary School Pupils Takes Place – “The Impact of Climate Change on Humanity”

The WMG Foundation has organized its third educational workshop for primary school pupils on the topic “The Impact of Climate Change on Humanity.” The event was held at The Borislav Pekić Primary School in Belgrade.

Organizovana treća edukativna radionica za osnovce – „Posledice klimatskih promena na čovečanstvo“

The workshop was designed for pupils from Year 2 to Year 7, with the aim of raising awareness among young people about the seriousness of climate change and its effects on health, agriculture, and society.

Through an educational video and an interactive discussion, the children explored various aspects of climate change. The focus was on health impacts, such as the spread of diseases, agricultural challenges, reduced food quality, and consequences like droughts, floods, and heatwaves. It was highlighted that climate change could lead to a reduction in the quantity and quality of food, further endangering the health of both humans and animals. The pupils also learned how irresponsible food waste exacerbates the problem.

One of the key sections of the workshop was devoted to explaining the issue of climate migration. The pupils were informed about how climate change drives migration, leading to social and economic challenges. Discussions with the children led to conclusions about what they personally experience as the effects of climate change and what solutions they would propose to change human habits.
The final part of the workshop was dedicated to a game called “Associations,” which involved terms related to climate change and its consequences, enabling the pupils to consolidate their knowledge in an engaging way. The WMG Foundation continues its efforts to educate young people and raise awareness about climate change, believing that the responsibility for the future of our planet lies in the hands of the next generation.
