The conference “The State of Planet Earth – Is It Time for Alarm”, organized by WWF and the WMG Foundation, was held at the WMG Foundation Event Hub and featured the presentation of the latest global report on the state of the planet.
At the opening of the event, speeches were delivered by Irena Petrović, Director of the WMG Foundation; Petra Boic Petrac, Director of Communications and Corporate Relations at WWF Adria; and Sandra Dokic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
During the first panel discussion, participants addressed the key challenges threatening the environment, focusing on the main sources of pressure, society’s response to the ongoing triple planetary crisis, and insights from the latest State of the Planet 2024 report. The second panel discussion, led by Professor Dejan Milenković, explored the theme “How to Stay Alive and Become Sustainable?” and brought together representatives of companies that see sustainable business practices and adherence to ESG principles as the key to the future.
The triple planetary crisis—climate change, biodiversity loss, and the threat of ecosystem collapse on a global scale, coupled with societal destabilization—represents some of the greatest dangers we face. However, we have not yet reached the point of no return.
