On the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child, observed on 11 October, the WMG Foundation, in collaboration with members of the Women in Diplomacy Network, organised a meeting between female ambassadors and high school girls from various Serbian cities. The initiative aimed to inspire young girls, through the sharing of experiences, to fulfill their potential and to contemplate their future career paths with confidence.

The Ambassador of Israel to Serbia, Avivit Bar-Ilan, and the Ambassador of Brazil, Maria Clara Duclos Debidour, hosted a group of high school students, sharing insights from their diplomatic careers, the challenges they faced, and the lessons learned along their professional journeys.
During the gathering, the girls had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the world of diplomacy, the importance of female leadership, and the opportunities opened up to them through education and professional development. Special emphasis was placed on the vital role of knowledge, courage, and self-belief as the cornerstone for achieving personal and professional goals.
The meeting was captured in a social media video campaign designed to reach as many girls across Serbia as possible, encouraging them to pursue their ambitions.
This initiative was carried out as part of the WMG Foundation’s women’s initiative, SpOna, which is dedicated to connecting women across different generations, exchanging knowledge and experiences, and creating new opportunities for empowerment. Through activities spanning science, business, sport, creative industries, and diplomacy, SpOna strives to enhance women’s visibility and promote their active, equal participation in society.
By supporting such initiatives, the WMG Foundation continues to foster spaces for connection, learning, and growth – giving girls and young women the chance to draw inspiration from the journeys of successful women for their own paths forward.
